Dr.Vince Elgersma
Family Physician MD, CCFP, BMSc
Dr. Elgersma completed his undergraduate and medical school training at the University of Alberta. He graduated with several academic awards including the Hewlett Packard Top Medical Graduate Award.
Brooks has been home since 2000 and he was one of 3 partners to build the South Shore Medical Clinic in 2004. He has been actively involved in medical education and has been recognized by medical residents as the rural preceptor of the year on two occasions. In 2019 he achieved the rank of Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Calgary Department of Family Medicine. He was awarded Fellowship designation by the Canadian College of Family Physicians for his contribution to community, colleagues and the discipline of family medicine.
His interests include teaching, Sports Medicine, Preventive Medicine and International Medicine. When not working you may find him road biking, reading, or spending time with family.
Dr.Nicus Gildenhuys
Family Physician MBChB, LMCC, CCFP(OSS), DipDerm(Cardiff)
Dr. Gildenhuys completed his medical training at the University of Stellenbosch in South Africa. On completion of his training he spent time working on the east coast of South Africa, followed by Cape Town, before relocating to Canada. He believes in proactive, preventative care through a healthy lifestyle.
He achieved his diploma in Dermatology through Cardiff University with distinction and is highly passionate about a variety of skin care and dermatological conditions including medical aesthetics. He truly believes in building confidence through maintaining a youthful, natural appearance by evidence based medical grade treatment options. He will be accepting skin care related consults and self referrals / walk ins

He is a Director of the rural family medicine residency program at the University of Calgary, a part-time Clinical lecturer at the University of Calgary Family medicine residency program and is involved in the undergraduate UCLIC teaching program.

In his free time he enjoys surfing, spearfishing, mountain biking and paddling. He loves spending time outdoors, discovering the adventure and natural beauty in his surroundings and enjoys photographing his experiences and travels.
